The Practice

The studio works with districts, buildings, hospitality projects, cultural spaces, and the people shaping them. Projects often begin with identity and extend into signage, websites, leasing materials, photography, print, and the other ways an identity takes form.

Founded and led by Kacie Yates, Cinq works across disciplines with identities that adapt as projects grow and places change.

A place is rarely experienced through one thing.

Identity may begin with a mark, but it continues through language, architecture, material, photography, signage, and use.
Cinq considers these elements together, from the larger identity system to the details encountered every day.

The work begins with observation: understanding the place, what is already there, and what needs to become clearer. The result is specific to the project rather than a predetermined studio style.

Kacie Yates is a creative director and designer based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Her work has focused on places in transition: historic buildings, mixed-use districts, emerging neighborhoods, and hospitality and retail environments finding a clearer identity.

Before founding Studio Cinq, she worked independently, as co-owner of Brightside, and as part of the creative team at Jamestown.

Her perspective comes from a long-standing interest in architecture, photography, material culture, and the details that make a place memorable.
